Overview
Sky Battle keeps the formula tight: top-down arena, one jet, one stick of waves to break through. There is no career hangar — instead the focus is on airframe choice, missile economy, and short-loop upgrades you spend mid-mission.
Sixteen real-world-inspired airframes are tunable: F-16 Falcon, F-14 Tomcat, F/A-18 Super Hornet, F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II, J-10C, J-20, J-35, Rafale, Typhoon, MiG-29, Su-27, Su-47, Su-75 Checkmate, NGAD, and J-36 — across 4th, 5th and 6th gen. Each has its own HP, top speed, turn rate, acceleration and missile cap.
Missile capacity grows in tiers (2 → 4 → 6 → 8 → 10) as you push. An optional AWACS datalink upgrade increases lock radius based on pilot level. Engagements happen near procedurally generated mountain terrain that you can use as a missile screen.
How to play
- Pick an airframe, drop into the wave, kill enemy jets and survive.
- Cycle locks with the lock key and fire missiles when you have a clean cone.
- Use mountain ridges to break enemy missile locks; missiles do not track through terrain.
Controls
Frame generations
4th-gen frames (F-16, F-14, F/A-18, J-10C, Rafale, Typhoon, MiG-29, Su-27, Su-47) trade raw stats but are accessible early. 5th-gen frames (F-22, F-35, J-20, J-35, Su-75) bring tighter turn and missile counts. The 6th-gen NGAD and J-36 are the late-game frames: smaller HP pool, but higher top speed, sharper turn and a missile cap that climbs to 10 with upgrades.
AWACS and lock radius
Buying the AWACS upgrade unlocks an allied AWACS that extends your lock radius the higher your pilot level. The maths is roughly base + 920 + (level × 30) — that translates to first-tap locks that would otherwise force you into a long stern chase.
Tips & strategy
- Climb missile capacity (2/4/6/8/10) before climbing airframe — more missiles in the air means more pressure.
- Hug ridges on the procedural mountain map to break tail-chase locks.
- AWACS pays for itself by the time you hit pilot level 5+.
- NGAD and J-36 do not want to dogfight in the merge — they want to fire, run, and re-engage on a fresh angle.
Frequently asked questions
Are the named airframes accurate to real life?
They are inspired by real designations but tuned for arcade balance — Sky Battle is fiction, not a simulator.
What is the missile cap?
10 missiles at the top tier. You start at 2 and grow it with upgrade tokens.
How does the AWACS datalink work?
It is a per-run upgrade you buy. Lock radius scales with pilot level while the datalink is active.
