Overview
Helo Assault is the slow, heavy cousin to Fighter Ops. You hover, line up a target, and pour rockets, missiles and chain-gun fire into armoured packs on the ground. Rotor wash kicks dust off the deck; chassis colour changes with altitude.
Five airframes available: UH-1 Huey (free, balanced), AH-1 Cobra (fast attack), AH-64 Apache (heavy payload), Mi-24 Hind (flying tank), AH-1Z Viper (high-tech speed). Each unlocks at a different cost from $2,500 up to $15,000.
Mission tiers escalate from infantry skirmishes through to mixed enemy types. Upgrade tree mirrors Fighter Ops: MG level, fire rate, accuracy, power, range, speed, fuel tank, missiles, laser and flares. Pilot level caps at 20.
How to play
- Take off from base, climb to a useful altitude, identify ground targets on radar.
- Lock with the lock key, salvo rockets/missiles, finish with chain gun.
- Return to refuel and restock between sorties.
Controls
Airframe trade-offs
Huey is balanced and free. Cobra is fast and fragile. Apache is the heavy hitter with 1.3x damage. Mi-24 Hind is the flying tank — 2.2x HP, 1.5x damage, but slow. Viper is the late-game speed/tech frame at 1.4x speed.
Upgrades and laser
Beyond the standard MG/fire-rate/accuracy/power/range tree, Helo Assault has a one-tier Laser upgrade that adds a continuous-beam secondary weapon, and Flares (one-tier) for chaff defence against IR missiles.
Tips & strategy
- Hover-and-snipe outperforms strafing runs for accuracy upgrades.
- Cobra is the cheapest path to "feels fast" — buy it before saving for Apache.
- Mi-24 Hind tanks shots that would kill any other airframe. It is the safest grind chassis for mid-tier missions.
- Laser upgrade is one of the best per-dollar damage purchases once unlocked.

Can I switch helicopters mid-mission?
No — choose your frame in the hangar before the sortie.
Does Helo Assault share progression with Fighter Ops?
No. Each Skywar game has its own local save — your pilot level and cash do not carry across.
