War Room missions 1–5 walkthrough — loadouts that actually work
Concrete loadout advice for your first five War Room missions in Aircraft mode on Normal difficulty.
The first five War Room missions teach the core loop: pick a frame, pick a warhead, destroy enough of the target grid, earn cash, unlock the next mission. This walkthrough assumes Normal difficulty and Aircraft mode — the default path for new players.
Before Mission 1
Open the hangar tab and confirm Swiftblade Mk.I is selected — it is the free starter. Open the armory and note Iron Drop XL (cheap gravity bomb) and Blue Streak Racer (direct guided). You do not need to buy anything before M1; the starter loadout clears it.
Missions 1–2
Fly low, cycle locks with T, fire guided missiles with V. Use Z for unguided filler on undefended buildings. Save cash — do not buy heavy warheads yet. Learn flare timing (X) when enemy jets appear on Mission 2.
Missions 3–4
Ground flak increases. Buy Blue Streak or Arc Reaper Cruise in the armory if you are missing locks. Prioritize destroying SAM radars first — they drive most aircraft losses. If you lose two sorties in a row, drop to Easy difficulty until M5 is cleared.
Mission 5
Mission 5 introduces denser grids. Consider your first launcher sortie: Rainmaker Battery in Auto mode can delete static targets while you learn aircraft elsewhere. If staying in Aircraft mode, carry a mix of guided direct and one lofted warhead for behind-hill targets.
After Mission 5
Review unlocked frames in the hangar — Shadowfang X and Void Stalker typically unlock around this tier. Read each warhead description in the armory before purchasing; the full missile guide is on /games/warroom under Missile and warhead profiles.
